Olaf is not the first Landsgaard to serve board.  That distinction belongs to his mother, Marion Landsgaard, who served over twenty years ago - a duty almost mandated by the fact that all of her and husband Art's eleven children attended and graduated from the highest level of SKUSD schools.  Olaf is sometimes confused with his brother Daniel, a director on the Rosamond Community Services District Board, or his brother Eric, "the Mayor" - manager of Karl's Hardware, or his brother Ted, a pilot and Realtor - much to their chagrin.  While Olaf prefers to be known as the tallest Landsgaard, little brothers Pete, an engineer in Memphis, and Dr. Hank, an E.R. physician in Flint Michigan, call him the "oldest".
